ArcExplorer is available in two versions that operate within Windows 95/98 or Windows NT. ArcExplorer Version 1.1 includes a number of new tools and enhancements, including support for MapObjects IMS Version 2.0. ArcExplorer Version 1.0 is available for Windows NT machines that have do not have Service Pack 3 installed.
Do not install different versions of ArcExplorer on the same computer.
NOTES:
- Uninstall any previous version of ArcExplorer prior to installing an updated version. Use the Add/Remove Programs utility in your control panel.
- ArcExplorer includes a complete user guide with tutorial in Adobe Acrobat format (PDF). You can download the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Adobe web site, www.adobe.com.
- Installation of ArcExplorer Version 1.1 on Windows NT requires administrator privileges.
- During the install, files are put in the %TEMP% directory for utility purposes. A %TEMP% variable must be set and the %TEMP% directory should be writeable.
- ArcExplorer Version 1.0 does not require Service Pack 3 on Windows NT. Only if you are running Windows NT without Service Pack 3 should you use ArcExplorer Version 1.0.

Note: ArcExplorer Version 1.1 within Windows NT, requires that Service Pack 3 is installed.
