The Bonn Archaeological Software Package (BASP) is a non-commercial, non-profit software project for and by archaeologists which has been developed cooperatively since 1973. It now includes more than 70 functions for seriation, clustering, correspondance analysis, and mapping tools for archaeologists working with IBM compatible PC's under DOS and all versions of Windows. It also includes programs for three dimensional display of data, for finding rectangular structures in scanned excavation plans containing thousands of postholes, and for the rectification of extremely oblique aerial photographs and their superimposition on large-scale scanned maps under Windows NT and Windows 95/98.
| Current version of WinBASP: 5.41 | Latest release notes: September 16, 1998 |
Version 5.41 of WinBASP for Microsoft Windows is now available. A fully featured time-limited trial version is available via FTP or the links below.
The other new programs listed run under Microsoft Windows NT or Windows 95/8 only. Note that Displa3D requires WinBASP for input of data. Posthole and AirPhoto are stand-alone programs and do not require WinBASP.
The WinBASP program is distributed in 7 parts (baspwin1.zip ... baspwin7.zip), all about 700kb. You must download all 7 parts (ca. 4.5 MB) to run the programs. Never mix files from different servers or installation may fail!!
